FCC Narrowbanding Alert

I am writing this letter to ensure your awareness of a major change in two way radio communications that will impact your business and operations. The Federal Communications Commission, FCC, has issued the order that no equipment can be manufactured after December 31, 2010 that operates on a 25 kHz wide channel in a conventional analog mode. This is similar to the order to stop analog television broadcasts. So what does this mean to you?
If your current system is operating in the 25 kHz wide channel spacing and you purchase an add on or replacement radio in less than one year from now, it will not work with your other radios in a usable fashion. Additionally, the
FCC will not permit ANY use of equipment operating in the wide channel spacing after Dec.31, 2012, less than three years from now.
Coming into compliance is not overly difficult. Most of the equipment manufactured over the last five years is capable of operating in the new 12.5 kHz bandwidth being mandated. The FCC license modification for the new narrow band operation is available to you at www.fcc.gov.
But why not let us help you both plan and execute this transition? For 21 years Express Radio has been here to help you with your system, radios, batteries and accessories. Call us at 800-448-7755.
